Manhattan Weekly Walk-In Clinic

The LeGaL Foundation holds a pro bono clinic each Tuesday evening from 6-8pm (excluding holidays) at The Center in Manhattan.  The clinic is staffed by volunteer attorneys who are available to provide general guidance and legal referrals but not legal representation.  Each visitor can expect to have a 15-minute consultation with our volunteer attorneys.  No appointment is necessary but you should arrive prior to 6pm to ensure that you can be seen.  The Center is located at 208 West 13th Street (b/w 7th and 8th Avenues); the Center’s phone number is 212-620-7310.  For additional information on The Center, please visit www.gaycenter.org

LGBT Life Planning Clinic

This clinic is aimed at assisting members of the LGBT community of modest means with the preparation of long-term life planning documents, including health care proxies, living wills, wills, and powers of attorney.

The LGBT Life Planning Clinic is jointly conducted by the LeGaL Foundation and the LGBT Law Project of the New York Legal Assistance Group. The groups are responding to the increasing need for life planning documents, which are vital to ensuring the greatest protections possible for the LGBT community given continuing inequality under the law and ever-changing legal developments.

Long Island Monthly Walk-In Clinic

The LeGaL Foundation holds a pro bono clinic on the second Thursday of every month at 7pm at the Long Island Gay and Lesbian Youth Community Center (34 Park Avenue, Bay Shore). Lawyer Referral Service

LeGaL provides referrals to attorneys through the LeGaL Lawyer Referral Service.  There is no fee for the service but attorneys will charge a fee for their services if you retain them.   Inquiries should be sent via e-mail to referral@le-gal.org or by calling 212-459-4873.  For additional information on the service and instructions on the information that will be required to receive a referral, pleas click here.
